Sports Roundup: Crescenta Valley water polo grabs a pair of wins in Oxnard Tournament


Crescenta Valley in Oxnard Tournament: The Falcons improved to 8-10 with a pair of lopsided wins at the Oxnard Tournament on Friday.

Crescenta Valley defeated Pioneer Valley, 18-2, and bested Santa Ynez, 11-4. Against Santa Ynez, Ben Horton, Brian Dertli and Antonio Camarillo had two goals each.

Also tallying goals were Alexander Trimis, Nate Fernandez, Griffin Harting, Trevor Goddard and Omar Trad. Robbie Menke had 11 saves.


Crescenta Valley 15, Burroughs 3: Alexa Grigorian swept in singles play, as did Natalie Davidian to lead Crescenta Valley to a Pacific League win on Friday.

In doubles, the Falcons (12-4, 8-3 in league) got sweeps from Jacqueline Dilanchyan and Viktoriya Shumakova and Sarah Oh and Angela Seo.

Chadwick 12, Flintridge Prep 6: Abby Letts and Young-In Kim won two out three sets, while Raya Gheissari, Maya Dunn, Elissa Kwon and the Brooke Stewart/Esther Jun doubles team each contributed a win apiece.
