Flintridge Prep boys’ basketball pulls upset

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Flintridge Prep 70, La Salle 67: Robert Cartwright scored a career-high 33 points and Chadd Cosse added 19 for the Rebels (3-2), who are ranked second in CIF Southern Section Division 5-AA, in a nonleague win over the Lancers (4-1), who are ranked sixth in Division 4-AA, on Tuesday night.

Brea Olinda 74, Hoover 64: Francis Roncal scored 19 points for the Tornadoes in a nonleague loss on Monday. Teo Davidian added 16 points for Hoover (2-3), which also got 14 from Arvin Atakhanian.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Glendale 59, Hawthorne 36: Erlin Keshishzadeh scored 14 points and Kristineh Zadourian added 13 points and four rebounds in the Nitros’ season-opening win at home on Tuesday.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Crescenta Valley 1, Golden Valley 1: Sierra Rhoads scored off a Grace Keller assist in Tuesday’s nonleague match as the Falcons’ record moved to 0-2-1.

BOYS’ SOCCER

Burbank 3, Flintridge Prep 1: Manny Perez scored the Rebels’ lone goal in a nonleague road loss on Tuesday. Clayton Weirick finished with eight saves for Prep (2-3-1).

GIRLS’ WATER POLO

Burbank 12, Flintridge Prep 1: Erin Phillips scored a goal for the Rebels Tuesday in a nonleague home loss that dropped them to 0-4 on the season.
