Flintridge Prep 236, Temple City 257: Nearly two weeks after announcing that he would retire as coach of the Flintridge Prep golf team, Bob Loughrie picked up his 300th career victory with the program Tuesday.

Jack Bouchard carded a four-over-par 39 and Jordan Sachs had a 41 to lead the host Rebels in a nonleague match at Altadena Golf Course.

Loughrie took over the Rebels in 1987 and turned into one of the elite local programs.

“What does it mean and what should I do?,” Loughrie, 71, said of the milestone. “You get 300 in anything and that’s a lot.

“It’s a time of reflection and thinking about all of the different personalities who have come down along the way. I’ve been fortunate and want to recognize each of the players. For a small school, we’ve had a plethora of terrific golfers. Now, it’s time to go to practice and try to win No. 301.”
