Hoover 7, Muir 4: Tornadoes pitcher Orlando Marin struck out 11 in five innings to spark host Hoover in a Pacific League game Friday. Pierce Velazquez scored three runs for Hoover (2-11, 1-4 in league).

BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL

Crescenta Valley 3, Hoover 0: The visiting Falcons picked up a 27-25, 25-15, 25-21 Pacific League win Friday. Crescenta Valley improved to 6-8, 4-4 in league. Hoover dropped to 0-8 overall and in league.

GIRLS’ LACROSSE

Chaminade 8, Glendale 7 (2 OT): Lymayre Aguilar finished with a team-high three goals Friday for the host Nitros in a Prep League match. Glendale dropped to 3-7, 1-3 in league.

SOFTBALL

Rio Hondo Prep 13, Flintridge Prep 3: Ashley Kim drove in a pair of runs Friday for the visiting Rebels in a Prep League contest. Flintridge Prep dipped to 1-9, 0-4 in league.
