SPORTS ROUNDUP: Flintridge Prep girls’ tennis earns first win of 2013 in Prep League opener

GIRLS’ TENNIS

Flintridge Prep 10, Webb 8: The host Rebels picked up their first win of the season Thursday in a Prep League-opener at Scholl Canyon Tennis Center.

Flintridge Prep (1-6) received a sweep in doubles from Cady Arcadia and Lori Pridjian (6-3, 6-4, 6-4). The Rebels also got a singles sweep from Roya Gheissari (6-3, 6-0, 6-1) and two wins in singles from Suzie Kim (6-3, 6-1).

Glendale 17, Pasadena 1: All three Nitros doubles teams swept their three sets Thursday at Pasadena in a Pacific League match to improve to 3-4 and 3-2 in league.

Imani Story and Dani Fabian produced the most impressive sweep for Glendale, 6-2, 6-1, 6-0.

Burbank 16, Hoover 2: Both of the Tornadoes’ wins came from their No. 1 doubles team of Alin Torosyan and Angie Khourdajian (6-2, 7-5). Hoover slipped to 4-4, 2-3 in the Pacific League.

Harvard-Westlake 13, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 5: Holly MacVaugh and Camille Katz won two doubles sets (6-4, 6-3) on Thursday for the visiting Tologs in a Mission League match at L.A. Valley College. Flintridge Sacred Heart dropped to 3-3, 1-1 in league.

GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL

Westridge 3, Flintridge Prep 0: Nicole Emmons collected six kills Thursday for the visiting Rebels, who fell, 25-6, 25-13, 25-18 in a Prep League defeat.

Ramona Convent 3, Holy Family 1: Rianne Sanchez finished with 19 assists and eight digs for visiting Holy Family on Thursday, as Ramona Convent won 18-25, 25-20, 25-10, 25-13.

GIRLS’ GOLF

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy in Mission League midseason match: The Tologs finished fifth in the seven-team event with a 266 on Thursday at Balboa Golf Course in Encino. Denver Mackey finished with a 13-over-par 51 for Flintridge Sacred Heart.
