Sports Roundup: Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy volleyball sweeps to Mission League win

GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 3, Louisville 0: Kayla Lund had 14 kills and Maddie Peterson added 11 on Tuesday to lead the visiting Tologs to a 25-16, 25-18, 25-14 Mission League win. Sophia Coffey finished with 32 assists and Emily Develle added 16 digs to help the Tologs improve to 16-3, 7-1 in league.

Crescenta Valley 3, Hoover 0: Emmie Walker finished with seven kills and three aces Tuesday to spark the host Falcons to a 25-17, 25-16, 25-17 Pacific League win. Marina Torres added 19 assists for Crescenta Valley (13-10, 6-5 in league).

Webb 3, Flintridge Prep 0: Dani Motte collected six kills Tuesday in a 25-10, 25-10, 25-13 Prep League defeat. The Rebels dropped to 1-14, 0-10 in league.

GIRLS’ TENNIS

Chadwick 12, Flintridge Prep 6: Host Flintridge Prep closed out its season Tuesday with a Prep League defeat at Scholl Canyon Tennis Center. The Rebels (2-13, 2-8 in league) received two wins in singles from Roya Gheissari (6-0, 6-1) and Suzie Kim (6-1, 6-2).

BOYS’ WATER POLO

Hoover in Pacific League Tournament: Thanks to a strong second half, the Tornadoes extender their season with a 12-6 victory over Burroughs on Tuesday afternoon in the Pacific League Tournament semfinals at Burbank High.

The victory sends Hoover (7-13, 3-4) into a match Thursday at 3:30 p.m. versus Arcadia back at Burbank High.

Hakop Baghumian (three assists), Arik Abedi (three steals) and Hakop Kaplanyan (three steals) all tied for the team-high of three goals each as Hoover won the third quarter, 4-2, in taking an 8-5 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

The Tornadoes then won the fourth quarter, 4-1, in icing the victory.

Goalie David Petrosyan tallied 14 saves for Hoover, while Harout Ashkarian added three steals and three assists.
