Sports Roundup: Crescenta Valley High boys' soccer throttles Mayfair


Crescenta Valley 6, Mayfair 1: Behind two goals and two assists from junior midfielder Kevin Ginosian and two goals from senior forward Matt Ryan, the Falcons rolled to a nonleague road victory on Thursday afternoon.

Senior midfielder Tony Royer and junior halfback Justin Wright each added a goal and an assist, while Ara Nazaryan and Sameen Islam contributed an assist each for the Falcons (7-1-1).

The Falcons’ goalkeeping combo of Chris Mardiroussian and Adan Martinez combined for three saves.

Up next, the Falcons will take on Valencia on Dec. 27 in the opening match of the Hart Showcase at Hart High.


Flintridge Prep 2, San Marino 0: The freshmen led the way for the Rebels in a nonleague road victory on Thursday afternoon.

Jillian Brady and Lindsay Campbell both netted goals for Flintridge Prep (3-0-3), which received 10 saves from sophomore goalie Lauren Stiles.

Marymount 2, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 0: The host Tologs (3-1) fell Thursday in a nonleague match at Occidental College.


Hoover 65, Huntington Park 56: Kevin Nazari finished with 15 points and Arlen Moradi added 13 on Thursday for the Tornadoes (5-2) in a pool-play game of the Pioneer Tournament.

Sierra Canyon 74, Flintridge Prep 41: Andrew Tsangeos finished with 18 points and Kyle Hamane added eight on Thursday for the host Rebels (2-3) in a nonleague contest.
