Sports Roundup: Glendale, Crescenta Valley High girls’ hoops get rivalry wins to close Pacific League

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Crescenta Valley 48, Arcadia 29: The Falcons closed out a 20-win regular season with a road victory in the Pacific League finale Thursday.

Alisa Shinn led the way for the Falcons (20-8, 11-3 in league) in scoring a game-high 16 points, while Ella Stepanian added 12 points.

With the victory, Crescenta Valley finished second in league.

Glendale 67, Hoover 33: Host Glendale concluded its season Thursday with a convincing victory against its crosstown rival. Glendale held a 27-20 halftime advantage before taking charge in the second half.

The Nitros (12-16, 6-8 in league) got 13 points and 12 rebounds from Kristina Sahakian, 12 points and four assists from Mariel Telebrico and 12 points from Karah Hui.

Hoover (3-17, 3-11) got 14 points from Nairi Sevajian.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Flintridge Prep 2, Webb 0: Flintridge Prep finished up the regular season Thursday with a Prep League victory, as sophomores Katherine Pinney and Isabella Boyles scored for the Rebels.

Prep finished the regular season at 12-4-5 and 7-1-2 in league for second place.

WOMEN’S TENNIS

Glendale Community College 7, Irvine Valley College 2: The visiting Vaqueros (4-0) picked up a nonconference victory Thursday. In singles, Glendale got wins from Meghedi Mooradian (7-6 (7-2), 6-1), Viktoriya Shumakova (6-1, 6-2), Amy Shigenaga (3-6, 6-3, 6-1), Alexandra Amor (6-0, 6-3) and Ashley Sumudio (6-2, 6-2).

The Vaqueros got doubles wins from Amor and Shumakova (8-4) and Mooradian and Sumudio (8-6).
