For the second season in a row, the Glendale Community College men’s and women’s tennis teams will be a part of the Southern California Regionals.

Both teams earned No. 5 seeds after the playoff pairings were unveiled Sunday night and will hit the road for first-round matchups at 2 p.m. Tuesday.

The men’s team, fresh off wining its first Western State Conference championship since 2005, will make the trek to the Inland Empire to face fourth-seeded Mount San Jacinto. The teams did not meet during the regular season.

Glendale (11-4) will appear in its eighth postseason match since coach Bob MacKay took over the program in 2003. Mount San Jacinto (13-5) took second in the Pacific Coast Conference.

The women’s team, led by first-year coach Deo Sy, will meet fourth-seeded Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa after placing second in the Western State Conference. The Vaqueros (12-3) didn’t face Orange Coast (12-2) during the regular season. Orange Coast placed second in the Orange Empire Conference.

The second and third rounds will be held April 15 and 19, respectively. The state final will take place April 23 in Ventura County.
