Fired coach at Santa Ana high school suspected of seeking nude photos from H.B. teen

An assistant baseball coach at Segerstrom High School in Santa Ana was arrested by Huntington Beach police on suspicion of trying to solicit lewd photos from two teenage boys.

Carlos “CJ” Salcito Sales Jr., 25, of Santa Ana is suspected of lewd and lascivious conduct and of contacting a minor with intent to commit a sexual offense. He was booked into Huntington Beach Jail on Friday and was released on $100,000 bond, according to the Huntington Beach Police Department.

Deidra Powell, spokeswoman for the Santa Ana Unified School District, said Sales was fired Monday. Sales had been an employee of the district since 2013.

The parents of a Huntington Beach boy reported to police on Dec. 10 that they had found sexually explicit text messages from Sales on their son’s cellphone. The messages allegedly asked for nude photos and for the teen to participate in lewd acts, police said.

Officials also believe that Sales sent nude photos to another teenage boy, police said. That boy’s city of residence was not released.

The relationship between Sales and the boys was not disclosed.
