Spring Home Tour includes vintage Colonial houses

Docents will lead visitors through four local homes on Friday, May 4, when the La Cañada High School 7/8 PTA holds its annual Spring Home Tour. Hours for the event are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The gardens of a fifth home will serve as the backdrop for the Home Tour Marketplace boutique and catered luncheon, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Area merchants will be on site to offer a host of goods — just in time for Mother’s Day shopping — and will donate 25% of their sales that day to the LCHS 7/8 PTA. LCHS musicians will perform for diners, who will enjoy a meal created by Porta Via Italian, of Pasadena.

The properties on the tour include a hacienda that is set on a lush lot complete with a guest cottage/cabana, log cabin and an entertainment/recreation studio; a two-story 1942 Colonial that was updated with traditional decor in 2007; a striking Southern Georgian Colonial, which was custom-built for its owners in 2006, and an eclectic, single-level ranch that boasts a stage for the musicians in the family.

“I am so pleased with the homes on the tour this year,” stated the event’s chairman, Leslie Kevorkian, in a news release. “Each has its own unique style and character with many noteworthy architectural and personal details.”

Tickets for the Spring Home Tour are on sale now at $40 and will be available on the day of the tour for $45. Luncheon tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.
