A crayon, a Mona Lisa with a young girl’s head poking through the frame, a feline and other curiosities made their appearances during the 25th annual Halloween Haunt at La Cañada Elementary School on Saturday, taking part in a bash that raises money for school programs.
In addition to the costume contest, youngsters enjoyed games and rides and their parents placed bids for auction items. The proceeds will help cover costs for accelerated reading and math programs, the school maintenance fund and more.
Karyn Perez, a member of the La Cañada Elementary PTA board, said organizers have yet to tally the proceeds, but that the event was a “huge success.”
“The sunny skies brought great attendance to this year's Halloween Haunt, with a record-breaking number of ticket sales and a very successful silent auction,” she wrote in an email.
