Comfort clothes for a cause

Share

When are pajamas more than just pajamas? When they help women who’ve been forced into the sex trade to turn their lives around.

Last week at La Cañada Presbyterian Church, Julie Wood of the Southern California-based International Princess Project told local parents about the difficult lives and good outcomes for women from India who were forced into the sex trade but who are now taking control of their families and fortunes by making clothing at International Princess sewing centers.

Wood also offered samples of the punjammies, pajamas in an assortment of vibrant colors and patterns, made by the women. La Cañada Presbyterian’s Parent Education program is helping to fund a new staffer for the International Princess Project in India. Launched in 2005, International Princess Project has assisted more than 200 women and their children.
