A special screening of a new film that focuses on the history of the La Cañada Flintridge trails system will be shown at 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16 at Lanterman House, 4420 Encinas Drive.

The La Cañada Flintridge Trails Council marks its 40th anniversary this year and worked with film director John Newcombe to create the film. The DVD, “The History of the La Cañada Flintridge Trails,” will be available for $19.95 on Sunday and can also be found at area retailers including Sport Chalet, Flintridge Bookstore and Once Upon a Time. It is also sold at the gift shop in Descanso Gardens and at the La Cañada Flintridge Chamber of Commerce office.

Newcombe, who also produced the award winning “Rancho La Cañada” DVD a few years ago, is available to give 30-minute presentations about the historical trails DVD to local organizations. He can be reached at jjnewcombe25@aol.com.
