Cookin Kids Culinary Camp — Six weeks, beginning July 12. Each week focuses on a different theme. Campers are divided into two groups, ages 7-11 and ages 12-16. Pasadena Women’s Connection June 9, at 11:30 a.m. Draper’s and Damon’s summer fashions will be featured at the “A Flair for Fashion” luncheon and fashion show by the Pasadena Women’s Connection at Brookside Country Club, 1133 N. Rosemont, Pasadena. Women in the community are invited to attend. Carolyn Standerfer will share her story demonstrating the power of hope in a seemingly hopeless situation in her message, “The Hope Diamond.”

Book Fair at Palm Crest Elementary School — 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. today. The Palm Crest PTA presents Mrs. Nelson’s Book Fair. The school keeps 20% of all dollars spent at its annual spring book fair, held on campus, 5025 Palm Drive, La Cañada. Tonight, during the school’s Open House event, the book fair will be open additional hours, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

EXHIBITIONS

StitchesThrough June 6. A group exhibition exploring contemporary art approaches to the techniques of sewing, knitting and weaving. The exhibiting artists share an unconventional approach to these versatile and often obsessive art forms by creating process and material-based works utilizing substances ranging from yarn and thread, to found objects and recycled clothing. Also, Ascending Dragon: Contemporary Vietnamese ArtistsNow through June 13. Artwork of Vietnamese-born/ based artists, and artists of Vietnamese descent living and working in the United States. Arroyo Singers Concert: British are Coming — June 6, 4 p.m. The Arroyo Singers’ spring concert will feature some of the greatest musical compositions from the British Isles. Dr. James Reitzell will direct the chorale, which will be accompanied by pianist Nonna Ayrapetova. The concert will be held at Oneonta Congregational Church, 1515 Garfield, South Pasadena. Tickets: $12 adults, $10 seniors and students. Children under 10 admitted free.
