A service of installation was celebrated by La Cañada Presbyterian Church and the Presbytery of San Fernando for the new senior pastor, the Rev. Dr. Gary Dennis.

Thirty Years Ago

Gilbert Dreyfuss, owner of La Cañada Flintridge Country Club, was given city approval to proceed with an 84-lot residential subdivision (today known as Greenridge) north of the golf course. Also approved were four new tennis courts for the club, which Dreyfuss said would help boost membership.

Forty Years Ago

The Kiwanis Club of La Cañada sponsored a concert appearance of the Mitzelfelt Chorale at Lanterman Auditorium. The concert featured the premiere of La Cañada resident Dr. Richard Bing’s “Divertimento for Brass and Tympani.”

Fifty Years Ago

Twenty-four long-playing records of classical music were presented to the La Cañada Junior High School Band and Orchestra Mothers Club for use by the young musicians. The gift was made by Ralphs Grocery Co. in honor of Music Appreciation Week.
