Float group holds ‘Happy Hour’

More than 90 supporters of the La Cañada Flintridge Tournament of Roses Association turned out Sept 24 for the monthly Happy Hour, which was hosted by Jean and Don Spomer.

Among the partygoers were Mary and Duane Batenhorst, Peggy and Bill Barber, Gloria and Terry Beyer, Margaret and Rex Quinn, Evelyn and Dick Barley, Pat Anderson, Fran and Bill Evans, Pat Foltyn, Bob Knight, Jackie and Don Walls, Doris Coates, JoAnn and Gil McCoy, Jean and Ron Zink, Lee and Merv Johnson, Patti and Ross Newton, Darleen Schuster, Joel Peterson, Joyce Riebling, Nancy and Ludwig Fraines, Pat Wroan, Association President Pam Wiedenbeck, Dee and Fraser Draper, Doris Horwith, Malek Peterman and Peggy Hotaling.

The next Happy Hour will be on Friday, Oct. 22 , from 6 to 8 p.m. at the home of Liz Argue, 1314 Descanso Drive, La Cañada. Anyone over 18 is welcome, whether or not an Association member — just bring an appetizer to share and buy your beverage of choice at a nominal cost, all in support of our city’s 2011 Rose Parade float: “3-2-1 DIG!”.
