Kiwanians lend hands during annual run

Members of the Kiwanis Club of La Cañada, led by President Mary Gant, volunteered their efforts as early as 5:30 a.m. on Nov. 24 to assist with the annual Thanksgiving Day Run sponsored by the Community Center of La Cañada Flintridge and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Members of the local city of La Cañada Flintridge Noon Kiwanis Club also donated many food items for Sheriff’s personnel to distribute to families in need.

The club members were there to lend a hand to make this community effort very successful. Participating with Gant were Jim Phillips, Carl Christensen, Al Magee, Chuck Terhune, Nick Berkuta, Clyde Hemphill, Irene Christensen, Mike Sagarian, Bill Scherkey, Melinda Thompson and Rolando Morales.
