The Community Scholarship Foundation of La Cañada Flintridge is accepting 2018 scholarship applications from full-time students who attend public or private schools within the city of La Cañada Flintridge, as well as those who attend Crescenta Valley High School in La Crescenta. The deadline to apply for the awards is Monday, April 30; this year’s honorees will be notified in May.

Since it was established in La Cañada in 1964, CSF has awarded more than $1 million in scholarships to local students. Last year a total of $35,000 in individual scholarships — ranging from $1,000 to $4,500 per student — were presented during a luncheon event. The awards are geared to help students attend college, university or a trade/technical school once their high school studies are completed.

According to CSF officials, the minimum eligibility requirements include: 3.0 unweighted grade point average, Electronic Student Aid Report (SAR) 2018-19, completed application and financial information, and special circumstance letter.

The CSF scholarships are for one year, but students may apply for renewal in subsequent years, providing they continue to meet the required criteria.

The college counseling offices of La Cañada High, Flintridge Prep, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy, Hillside School and Learning Center, St. Francis and Crescenta Valley high schools have CSF applications on hand. Or, interested students can download them from the CSF website, www.csflacanada.org.
