American Doll Fashion Show to be held on March 12, 13, 14

“Kailey,” the American Doll of the year, will be welcomed not only by the history-oriented dolls of the American Girl collection, but will be introduced at the 8th annual American Girl Fashion Show to be held on March 12, 13 and 14 at Brookside Country Club.

This annual event, hosted by the Flintridge Guild of Childrens Hospital, draws more than 2,000 attendees each year. All proceeds from this year’s show will go to Neuroscience and Imaging Research at Childrens Hospital, Los Angeles.

“We are excited about the American Girl Fashion Show because the funds garnered do so much good for the children at the hospital,” Jan Hotchin, co-chair of the event said.

“For the 50 members of the Guild this is a real team effort and it furthers our commitment to give the children at the hospital the best we can,” Anna Bussjaeger, Hotchin’s co-chair, said.

The theme for this year’s event is “California Dreamin’in honor of the limited edition Kailey doll, who hails from California. This doll calls attention to preserving California’s coastline and the creatures that inhabit the ocean and its tide pools.

Rose Princesses Laura Stassel, a LCF resident and Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy senior, and Christina Mills, a senior at La Salle High School, will be guest commentators at this popular show.

The event will feature a gift boutique as well as many prizes and favors. There is a dinner show on Friday at 7 p.m. The next two days there will be tea fashion shows held at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. For ticket information and reservations call 952-7978.
