Church to Host Concert

The choirs of St. Bede the Venerable and members of the L.A. Chamber Orchestra and Opera Orchestra will present a St. Bede Birthday Concert on Sept. 25 at 7:30 p.m. at 215 Foothill Blvd. Anthony Lupica, music director and conductor, will lead the concert, accompanied by Barbara Klump. The event will feature the music of Vivaldi and Mozart, including Gloria, Exsultate, jubilate, K. 165 and Regina coeli, K. 276. Singers will include Lisa Abel, soprano, Rhonda Dillon, alto, Wes Morrow, tenor and Edwin Kan, bass.

A freewill donation of $10 is requested for adults and $5 donation for children. For more information, call 790-5155.

The church welcomed Father Jim Gehl to the parish at three socials hosted at the homes of parish families recently. Fr. Gehl is looking forward to all the fall events and working with several groups at the parish.

The annual parish birthday party and fall festival is planned Oct. 3 from noon to 8 p.m. and will feature food, games, a white elephant sale, a pie baking contest and a raffle.

On Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. there will be an open forum and town hall meeting at the church.
