Jennifer DeGrey, Ryan Daileda Wed

Jennifer Le DeGrey and Ryan Clark Daileda were married Aug. 3 aboard the Marina Hornblower Yacht in Marina del Rey.

The romantic sunset ceremony took place at sea on the yacht’s open air top deck with a reception held immediately afterward on the lower levels. Festivities included dinner, dancing, cake smashing and even a light saber duel right out of Star Wars.

More than 60 guests joined the beaming couple on board the three-deck yacht to celebrate their marriage. Close friends and family journeyed to Marina del Rey from Hawaii, Florida, Virginia, Colorado, Arizona, Nevada and Southern California.

Jennifer is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rick DeGrey, Jr. and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dick DeGrey, all longtime La Cañada residents. Ryan is the son of Cindy Province of Las Vegas, and David Daileda of Springfield, Va.

Jennifer graduated from La Cañada High School in 1994. She received her bachelor of science degree in economics from the University of Redlands in 1998 and recently earned her teaching credential from Cal State Los Angeles. She is currently a long-term substitute teacher.

Ryan graduated from Clark High School in Las Vegas. He received his bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the University of Redlands in 1999. He continued on to UCLA where he earned his Ph.D in mathematics in 2004 with a specialization in analytic number theory. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher and instructor at Dartmouth College.

The newlyweds spent their honeymoon hiking, snorkeling and sea turtle watching on the islands of Maui and the big island of Hawaii before returning home in Hanover, N.H.20051215irgkxgkn(LA)Mrs. and Mrs. Ryan Daileda
