Latin Jazz Holiday Concert -- 7 p.m. Wed. Dec. 28 and 7 p.m. Thurs. Dec. 29 at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. “Celebrar,” Los Angeles Master Chorale’s Annual Latin Jazz Holiday Celebration, sizzles with All-Star Latin Jazz lineup and 40 voices from the chorale. It’s a Wonderful Life -- Now through Jan. 1. Spirit of Christmas -- Now through Dec. 27. This magical sleigh-ride is filled with everything that’s best about Christmas, including your favorite holiday songs and the highest-kicking chorus girls this side of the North Pole. And with a little bit of Christmas magic, the snow will fall every night inside Kodak Theatre! The show will be at 2 and 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22; at 10:30 a.m., and 2:30 and 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23; at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 24; at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 26 and at 2 and 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27. Descanso’s Boddy House Gallery -- Dec. 27 - Jan. 6. Encore Exhibit. Exhibiting oil painters will be Linda DuPas, Rut Eneberg, Shirley Flynn, Trish Kertes, Frank Lennartz, Margot Lennartz, Gerane Mooney and Kendra Page. Vicki Thomas and Pat Wiley will exhibit watercolors, Louise Forbes will bring paintings of animals and nature on natural wood and Dory Grade will exhibit acrylics. Rosarium horticulturist Wen-Pehn Wang will speak and show how to prune roses. The rose-pruning demonstration is one of the most popular events this time of year at Descanso Gardens, which boasts more than 3,000 rose bushes. The event, part of Descanso’s Horticultural Spotlight program, will begin with a slide show at Van de Kamp Hall and move to the International Rosarium for the pruning demonstration.
