Dec. 26 - Jan. 8, Kidspace to Have a Flurry of Activities Introducing Children to the Wonders of Winter.Winter in Southern California is often balmy and warm, but Kidspace Children’s Museum, located in Pasadena’s Brookside Park next to the Rose Bowl, is establishing a new way to allow children to explore the cooler traditions of the season with the 1st Annual Kidspace Winter Wonderland, a full two weeks of daily activities to celebrate the magic of winter, Dec. 26-Jan. 8.

Kidspace will offer programs bridging the arts, sciences, and humanities, which are dedicated to helping children understand and enjoy the many facets of winter. Create art projects with food preserved especially for the winter season. Gather around the Kidspace Central Courtyard at 4:30 p.m. each day to view the Winter Wonderland Spectacular Light Display. Snow-making will take place at surprise intervals throughout the day so children may delight in the wonder of first snow!

Signature events will include the Mini Iron Chef Stuffed Snowflakes Challenge on Dec. 27 and 29, a Winter Animals program with John Valentine and adaptive animal friends on Dec. 28, traditional caroling with guest performers Gigi and Mike on Dec. 30, and an unforgettable “Noon Year’s Eve Celebration” -- complete with a sparkling cider toast -- to countdown to 2006 at noon on Dec. 31.

Kidspace will be open on New Year’s Day, but closed on Jan. 2 and 4.

Kidspace Children’s Museum is open daily from 9:30 a.m. -- 5 p.m. Tickets are $8 for children and adults (infants under 1 and members are free).
