Jean-David Levitte, ambassador of France to the United States, will be the speaker on April 1 at a luncheon given by the Alliance Francaise de Pasadena in conjunction with the Art Center College of Design, where the event will be held.
Levitte will speak on the need for international education to build a global workforce for the 21st century. Attending will be the mayor of Pasadena, city bureaucrats, representatives of Pasadena institutions of higher education, Pasadena Unified School District officials, members of the Pasadena Education Foundation, and community and business leaders.
Each year the Alliance Francaise de Pasadena educates several hundred adults and children in its language classes. Its community involvement includes cultural programs, contests in French with monetary prizes and awards for excellence in French to local students.
