The sun was beaming on Father's Day, and many daddies and their children took to Memorial Park last week to enjoy an evening filled with music.
The two-hour Jimmy Buffet tribute performance given by Garratt Wilkins and the Parrotheads Jim entertained dozens of La Cañada families.
"It's a great day to spend with the kids," said John Peterson, father of two, while playing soccer with his son, Carsten.
"Father's Day to me is about spending time with the family, and today has been a great way to be doing that while listening to Jimmy Buffett," he said.
Carsten, 4, said his favorite thing to do with his dad is to watch and play soccer with him.
Next week's featured band during Music-in-the-Park is the Jack Lantz Big Band, a 17-piece big band local to La Cañada.
The Jack Big Band specializes in swing music with a repertoire that covers music from the '30s through today. Sunday's concert starts at 6 p.m.
