First Church of Christ, Scientist:One Person Bible Shows Set For Next Week

Members of First Church of Christ, Scientist, La Cañada Flintridge will present two inspirational evenings of one-man, nondenominational Bible performances on Nov. 10-11.

“Paul, Face to Face” is set for Nov. 10, 7:30-8:30 p.m., and “The Gospel According to St. John” is scheduled for Nov. 11 from 4-6 p.m. The reason for hosting this event, said Committee Chairwoman Nancy Allan, “is to experience the vitality and spirit of early Christianity.”

The performer, Alex Cavalli, is a physicist with a Ph.D. from Dartmouth College. After many years of unanswered questions about the universe through scientific knowledge and application, he found them being answered through spiritual research.

As head of the Institute for Innovation, Creativity, and Capital, at the University of Texas for many years, Cavalli was often a public speaker and found he was a natural performer for John, which he has performed for 14 years, including a special invitation, off-Broadway performance, and Paul, which is his new show.

Both performances will take place at the church at 600 Foothill Blvd. Tickets are $15 per show. Reservations are available by calling 424-5032, or tickets may be purchased at the door.
