Share

Girl Scouts Kelly Gregg, Camille Newcombe and Michelle Varraveto of Troop 739 earned their Silver Award by donating blankets, scarves, coats and hats to Pasadena Union Station Foundation.

Pasadena Union Station Foundation helps homeless and very low-income people to start a new life. Their Adult Center serves about 180 individuals a year. The Family Center helps over 65 families a year. The Union Station Foundation provides transitional housing, meals, case management, medical services and activities for the homeless.

The girls donated 20 large garbage bags full of coats and scarves. They made 13 blankets with the help of students from La Cañada High School 7/8. Their donations were worth over $3,000.

Earning the Silver Award requires a minimum of 40 hours per scout, and has taken six months to earn.
