Notes from Spartans Abroad

The La Canada Water Polo Foundation team reports back on their European training trip.

Hey all you in LA,

Everyone arrived in Budapest just fine. The Roszkos family met the team at the airport. Taylor was holding a sign that said "SPARTANS". After about an hour bus ride, we reached our destination. The hotel is clean and comfortable. It also has air conditioning. A very hard thing to find around here.

Wednesday evening the boys practiced and scrimmaged against a Kecskemet team. Trevor and Chase both have been solid players and helping the Spartans make a name for themselves over here. Next, we had a delicious dinner of Wienersnitzel and spaghetti. By the time we got back to the hotel, it was late and most everyone went to bed.

Thursday morning started out with a buffet breakfast and practice after that. For lunch, we had salad, chicken and rice. We are making sure that the vegans are getting enough to eat. The food so far has been quite good.

After lunch, we went to a local waterpark. This was so much fun! The boys were racing each other down the sides and also checking out the Hungarian girls. We have two wonderful, young female guides (Juci and Dorlinda). They translate for us and help us with the Hungarian culture.

After a short rest, the team is now at evening practice. The boys all want to say "hi" to their moms. They have all been perect gentlemen. That's all for now!
