LCFTRA’S Happy Hour is at Dawsons

The next LCF Tournament of Roses Association Happy Hour will be held on Friday, November 21, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the home of Barbara and Jack Dawson, 5278 La Cañada Blvd., La Cañada.

Anyone over 18 is welcome to attend these get-togethers. Just bring an appetizer to share, and buy your beverage of choice at a very moderate price.

Sample delicious hors d’oeuvres, chat with friends, meet new ones, and at the same time support your 2009 Rose Parade float, “Mechanical Melodies.”

LCF Republican Club Nov. meeting

Bruce Sievers, who has spoken to nearly 7,000 groups all across America, will be the special guest speaker at the November meeting of the La Cañada Flintridge Republican Club on Monday, Nov. 24 at Beckham Grill, 77 W. Walnut St., Pasadena.

Sievers has been invited to the White House to present his program for for presidents of the United States including Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, and George Bush. President Reagan, along with the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge, awarded Sievers the George Washington Medal of Honor for his presentation titled, “An American In Love With His Country.”

Toastmasters International has bestowed upon him the prestigious Communication and Leadership Award. The Daughters of the American Revolution honored him with the National Medal of Honor.

Sievers is an author who has published five books, and he has just completed a screenplay. He was a Green Beret in the Army.

Due to a demand to hear Sievers speak, advance reservations are required to attend this meeting the local Republican Club.

Dinner at Beckham for this event is $22. Valet parking is available at $3.50.
