Area 1

Raymond Avenue: Deputies observed a vehicle with only one working headlight on May 19. They stopped and searched the vehicle, discovering marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The driver and two passengers were detained.

3000 block of Foothill Boulevard: Somebody smashed the front glass door of a business overnight on May 19-20 between 8 p.m. and 7:50 a.m. The suspect stole $120 in currency from a cash register. The total loss was valued at $1,120.

11800 N. West Trail, Kagel Canyon: A young woman posing as a deaf person wiled her way into a private home on April 21. She told the victim she had been abandoned there by her boyfriend following an argument. After chatting with the victim for more than half an hour, the suspect stole a checkbook and car keys and left. When the victim went outside to check on her vehicle, it was gone. The suspect is believed to be a transient who lives in a homeless encampment in Sylmar. The total loss was valued at $2,525.

2900 block of Community Avenue: A Crescenta Valley High School student left his backpack near some basketball courts on campus on May 21 between 2:05 and 2:50 p.m. When he returned a short time later, the victim noticed that several items had been stolen from the bag, including a cell phone, money clip, bank card and school identification.

Montrose Avenue and Briggs Avenue: Deputies stopped a vehicle for not having a front license plate on May 24 at 1:40 a.m. When they approached the car, they smelled marijuana. The deputies detained the driver and searched the vehicle. They found a bag that contained more than 1 ounce of marijuana. The driver was arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana.

1900 block of Foothill Boulevard: Somebody entered an unlocked 2000 Jeep AMC on May 20 between 10:40 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. The suspect stole a purse, California driver’s license and a cell phone. The total loss was valued at $275.

1400 block of El Vago Street: Somebody entered an unlocked 2005 Dodge Caravan overnight on May 21-22 between 6 p.m. and 10 a.m. The suspect stole a GPS system. The total loss was estimated at $300.

1900 block of Foothill Boulevard: A suspect smashed the front passenger window of a 2006 Mercedes on May 23 between 5 and 7 p.m. The suspect stole an iPod. The total loss was estimated at $650.

1200 block of Foothill Boulevard: Somebody smashed the front passenger window of a 2002 BMW on May 24 between 9 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. The suspect stole a digital camera. The total loss was estimated at $1,400.

1300 block of Foothill Boulevard: A suspect smashed the rear driver’s-side window of a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer. No items were stolen. The loss was valued at $200.

Area 3

500 block of Georgian Road: A resident reported that somebody entered her opened garage overnight on May 19-20 between 8 p.m. and 5:45 a.m. The suspect stole items from unlocked vehicles, including golf clubs, golf club bags, a men’s watch, a GPS device, baseball caps and a wind-breaker. The total loss was estimated at $6,190.

600 block of Foxwood Road: Somebody entered an unlocked 2008 Chevy Silverado that was parked in a driveway overnight on May 19-20 between 9 p.m. and 7:20 a.m. The suspect stole a wallet, credit cards and a spray gun. The loss was valued at $300.

4100 block of Woodleigh Lane: A suspect entered an unlocked 1999 Lexus parked in a driveway on May 19-20 between 6 p.m. and 7 a.m. The suspect stole golf clubs and a golf club bag. The loss was valued at $300.

4300 block of Oak Grove Drive: A student reported that somebody smashed the rear passenger window of his 2006 Mercury Mountaineer on May 23 between 5 and 8 p.m. The suspect stole a Fender guitar, a Gibson guitar, a guitar case and several pieces of sound equipment. The total loss was estimated at $4,850.

1400 block of Descanso Drive: A suspect smashed the rear driver’s side window of a 2001 BMW 325i on May 24 between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. No items were stolen. The total loss was valued at $200.
