Area 1: 4700 block of La Crescenta Avenue: A television was stolen from a home’s kitchen between 10:50 and 11 a.m. on Feb. 26. The victim, whose purse and cell phone were left next to the TV but not taken, told deputies she had briefly left the home and its door unlocked while her husband and children remained there in another room. According to the police report, the woman had just a few minutes earlier told her gardener that the family would be late to pay this week’s bill, but said the gardener had not appeared angry about the delay. The television was valued at $200.

1900 block of Waltonia Drive: A woman who parked her 2008 Ford Escape on the street at 9:30 p.m. on Feb. 24 returned at 6:40 a.m. on Feb. 25 to find that the locked vehicle’s rear window had been smashed, apparently by a rock found in the rear cargo area. Though nothing was taken from the car, investigators are treating the incident as an attempted vehicle burglary, because glass was cleared from the window frame in a way that would allow a person to easily reach inside. Damage was assessed at $600.

4400 block of Ramsdell Avenue: A woman who parked her 2010 Toyota Corolla on the street just after midnight on Feb. 24 returned at 10 a.m. to find its rear window smashed and a Hello Kitty bag containing her laptop computer and charger missing from the car’s left rear passenger floor. The computer and charger were valued together at $1,000, the bag at $50 and the broken window at $200.

2500 block of Kemper Avenue: A tagger wrote graffiti in black permanent marker on the upper driver’s-side panel of a 1998 Dodge Dakota while it was parked between 6:30 and 8 a.m. on Feb. 23.

Area 2

2100 block of La Cañada Crest Drive: The driver of a 2005 Dodge Durango was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving at around 9:30 p.m. on Feb. 27 after she struck the front bumper of a parked car while trying to make a U-turn.

4800 block of Oak Grove Drive: JPL security guards called deputies twice in one weekend — once just after 11 p.m. on Feb. 25 and again around the same time on Feb. 27 — to report suspected drunk drivers. In the first instance, a 29-year-old Altadena man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and driving on a suspended license. In the second, a 53-year-old Pasadena woman, who said she was trying to find her way home after damaging her front right wheel rim while on the 210 Freeway, was arrested for driving under the influence.

200 block of Kirst Street: A woman who left home at 6:30 a.m. on Feb. 24 returned at 5:15 p.m. that day to find her front and back doors had been left open by an intruder. All that appeared missing from the home, however, was a pair of black bicycle gloves valued at $10.
