Wrong-way driver arrested in stolen car

Drivers on Foothill Boulevard had to watch out last Friday night, as a driver took his 1988 Chevrolet Cavalier down the wrong side of the road and through a red light before being stopped by Sheriff's deputies by Verdugo Boulevard at 10:30 p.m.

After pulling over the car, deputies found that the car had been reported stolen, and arrested the driver, 25-year-old Matthew Decker of Pollock Pines, Sgt. Ray Harley of the Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Station said on Monday.

Decker had started driving on Foothill Boulevard at Cornishon Avenue, but deputies didn't know at what point he started driving on the wrong side of the road, said Harley.

Decker was booked at Crescenta Valley Station for reckless driving and driving a stolen vehicle, and was stil being held on $25,000 bail on Monday afternoon.
