A weekend of Easter opportunities in La Cañada
It will be a good weekend to be a child in La Cañada Flintridge, where free Easter events will cater mostly to youngsters.
On Friday the Crescenta-Cañada Family YMCA hosts an Easter egg hunt and photos with the Easter bunny. The event takes place from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Y, 1930 Foothill Blvd. Adults can participate in their own Easter egg hunt and win prizes, including guest passes to the Y, massages and a one-month trial membership. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dilbeck Realtors sponsors the 17th annual Easter in the Park event at Memorial Park, 1301 Foothill Blvd. The Easter bunny will make another appearance, and children from 2 to 10 can take part in one of four egg hunts tailored for different age groups. The event also features a hat parade, a petting zoo, a bounce house, a children’s theatrical show, games and a goodie bag for every youngster who participates in the egg hunt.
The La Cañada Flintridge Merchants will host a bake sale and lemonade stand at Saturday’s event, with funds going to restore lands devastated by the Station fire.
Finally, the merchants sponsor Hop Along the Boulevard from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, with children visiting participating merchants to earn a chance to win prizes.
