Crime blotter: La Cañada spa employee reports harassing calls from man wanting a massage

July 10

Harassment: 200 block of Foothill Boulevard, 6 p.m. A man followed a woman into Seoul Market and attempted to slide a mop with a camera attached to it under her legs. A bystander confronted the suspect, who locked himself in a storage room. Deputies recovered the camera, but no pictures or video had been taken and the woman declined to pursue the suspect’s arrest.

July 11

Mail theft: 800 block of St. Katherine Drive, 10 a.m. or earlier. Residents of two homes reported their mail stolen.

July 13

Harassment: 804 Foothill Blvd., 1:20 p.m. An employee at Tranquility Spa told deputies she took numerous calls over two months from a “Carlos” asking for a massage. Tranquility Spa does not offer massages.

Burglary: 2500 block of Manhattan Avenue, 2:30 p.m. An envelope containing $1,220 in cash was taken from an apartment.

July 11

Auto theft: 4300 block of Ocean View Boulevard, 4:03 p.m. A Toyota Corolla was taken from an apartment complex.

July 14

Burglary: 2605 Foothill Blvd., 2 a.m. Three gas-powered generators, worth a total of $1,210, were stolen from O’Reilly Auto Parts. A witness saw a white van drive away after a burglar alarm went off.

Criminal threats: 300 block of El Caminito Street, 3 p.m. A man was arrested after he allegedly threatened to kill his girlfriend because she said she would contact police about a prior physical assault and his role in an auto theft.
