La Cañada Flintridge has released the final tally for the March 5 election in which voters picked two City Council members.

Planning Commissioner Jon Curtis led the race with 2,294 votes, while incumbent Dave Spence took 2,212 votes. Accountant Joe Layton had 1,137 votes.

Curtis will fill an open seat vacated by exiting Mayor Steve Del Guercio. Spence will retain his seat after a career on the council that has spanned over 20 years.

The results are unofficial until approved at next week’s City Council meeting.
