Water efficient customers to be rewarded by Foothill Municipal Water District

Share

Foothill Municipal Water District customers who use high efficiency toilets and rain barrels or remove their lawns are eligible for rebates, the agency announced this week.

The rebates are being offered to encourage limited use of the imported water provided to La Cañada Flintridge, La Crescenta and other nearby communities. The agency doled out more than $30,000 in rebates to customers over the last year.

Customers will receive $50 for replacing their old toilet with a high efficiency toilet with a capacity to flush 1.28 gallons of water or less. Removing a lawn in favor of drought-tolerant plants, mulch or other landscapes will earn a customer up to $800. Customers who purchase a rain barrel of $100 or less will receive a rebate of up to half the cost of the barrel, with an eight-barrel maximum per customer.

Visit the agency’s website at www.fmwd.com/conservation.aspx for more information.
