The La Cañada City Council will hold a special meeting on Monday, July 22 following the cancellation of Monday night’s scheduled meeting.
Although the agenda was emailed to those on the city’s mailing list on Friday afternoon, Monday’s meeting was cancelled because an announcement was not posted on the city’s website, officials said.
“By state law we need to post notice of that meeting and that failed to happen,” Mayor Laura Olhasso told the audience in the council chambers on Monday.
The special meeting will begin at 7 p.m. on July 22. However, the city is required to postpone a second reading or adoption of any measure until its next regularly scheduled meeting, on Aug. 5. This means that the discussion of the city’s smoking ordinance will not take place until Aug. 5.
