La Cañada Crime: Break-in attempt at Flintridge Pharmacy and Medical Supply

Jan. 3

Commercial burglary: 529 Foothill Blvd., Flintridge Pharmacy and Medical Supply, 8:28 p.m. Commercial double locking doors were damaged, but no items were reported stolen.

Burglary: 2200 block of Foothill Boulevard, between Dec. 31 and Jan. 3. A sink, two faucets, three refrigeration units and some copper pipe were stolen. There were damages to a wrought iron door and a key lock.

Petty theft: 852 Foothill Blvd. Adobe Design. Sometime between 3 and 5:15 p.m. an unspecified amount of money in various denominations was stolen.

Jan. 5

Possession of a controlled substance: the corner of Oak Grove Drive and Foothill Boulevard, 1:48 a.m. A suspect was approached by law enforcement officials while parked near a closed park. Methamphetamine was found during a search of the vehicle.

Burglary: 700 block of Inverness Drive, between 10:30 p.m. and 8:30 a.m. Jan. 5-6. Three unlocked vehicles were broken into inside the victim’s garage, which was accessed via an unlocked door. Multiple sets of keys, garage door openers, a deposit book, a bank rubber stamp, three checks made out to victim, and the keys to a Mercedes Benz were all stolen.

Identity theft: 4300 block of Commonwealth Avenue. The victim’s name and personal information were used to make unauthorized charges at two separate locations using the victim’s debit card. She was refunded by her bank.

Jan. 8

Identity theft: 5300 block of Pali Point Lane. The victim received a letter on Dec. 12, 2013 and a credit card in a different person’s name. On Friday, Jan. 8, the victim noticed that the mail was not arriving at his residence. The post office advised him that a “hold mail” request had been placed for his address by someone.

Jan. 10

Attempted burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, receiving stolen property: 800 block of Greenridge Drive, 6:52 p.m. Three suspects were arrested on suspicion of burglary. The suspects’ car contained jewelry, electronics, a coin, and cash consistent with items stolen from residential burglaries.

Jan. 13

Possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia: Corner of Foothill Boulevard and Lasheart Drive, 1:26 a.m. A suspect was approached by law enforcement officials for suspicious activity and was arrested for possession of controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

Jan. 8

Possession of stolen property, possession of a gravity knife: 2800 block of Adams Street, 10:40 a.m. A search warrant was served at suspect’s residence. Stolen car key to work van were recovered on site.

Jan. 12

Petty theft: 2500 block of Los Amigos Street, 3:15 p.m. The victim held a garage sale at his residence and reported that items had been stolen items, including a duffel bag, sparring chest pad, knee pads, gloves and a ceramic panther statue.
