Angeles National Forest offers free visits on President’s Day weekend

Share

Angeles National Forest is waiving its visitor fee this weekend in honor of President’s Day.

Beginning Saturday through Monday, visitors aren’t required to purchase the usual National Forest Pass, according to a news release from John Wagner of the U.S. Forest Service.

Although the Adventure Pass fee does not apply this weekend, campground, reservation, group-site and concession prices may still be in effect, Wagner said.

Several free fee days happen in 2014, including the National Get Outdoors Day on June 14, National Public Lands Day on Sept. 27 and Veterans Day weekend, Nov. 8-11.

Forest officials recommend that visitors learn about current conditions or possible closures before arriving at the trails. Information is available at https://www.fs.usda.gov/angeles/.
