Photo was an invasion of privacy

Share

I was deeply saddened to find in your paper a photo of the residence of the La Cañada family who suffered the loss of their daughter in a pool accident (“Shock follows child’s death,” May 31). It was an invasion of their privacy at a time of great sorrow in their family.

Common decency requires us to respect the pain of the bereaved and their need for privacy; it is why we are quiet at funerals. But apparently decency is not so common at the Valley Sun.

Shame on everyone who was involved in the decision to publish the photo.
