Griem’s view resembles Taliban

Share

I find the Rev. Bryan Griem’s description of a Christian nation chilling (“Can America be called a Christian nation?” In Theory, Aug. 19).

In his response to the In Theory question, Griem hardly attempts to describe such a nation as more just, tolerant or peaceful. Instead he describes a theocracy that controls the people through governmental fiat.

The only difference between his world view and that of the Taliban is the deity in whose name the censors would exercise their control. Is America a Christian nation in the model that the Rev. Griem longs for? Thank God, no.
