SPORTS ROUNDUP: Tologs tennis takes third in Mission League, clinches playoff berth

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 12, Chaminade 6: The Tologs defeated Chaminade, 12-6, in its Mission League finale Friday at the Fremont Tennis Center, clinching third place to earn an automatic CIF postseason berth. Sacred Heart finished the regular season 6-8, 5-5 in league.

Lorena Robles swept for the second day in a row for the Tologs in No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-1, 6-0. Lara Sarkisian and Holly McVaugh won two sets, 6-1, 6-4, in No. 1 doubles for Flintridge Sacred Heart, which got victories from Alex Milat, 7-6 (7-5) and Lana Sarkisian and Nicollete Harutunian (6-3).

BOYS’ WATER POLO

La Cañada 20, Monrovia 6: The Spartans clinched their third straight and 19th overall Rio Hondo League title Thursday at Monrovia. They coasted to a 10-0 lead by the end of the first quarter Thursday at Monrovia and rode it out to improve to 6-0 in league, 15-6 overall.

Johnny Louk led La Cañada, which is ranked No. 1 in CIF Southern Section Division III, in scoring for the first time this year with four goals and two assists, while Ben White also logged his first career varsity goal for the Spartans. Chase Borisoff also had two goals and three assists for La Cañada, which got two goals and three drawn ejections from Bryce Hopkins.
