Cantwell-Sacred Heart must be feeling a little bit unlucky. For the second time this season, the Cardinals appeared headed to victory against No. 1-ranked Bishop Montgomery.
Earlier this season, it took a desperation three-pointer at the buzzer for Bishop Montgomery to win. On Wednesday night, the Knights trailed Cantwell-Sacred Heart by 11 points going into the fourth quarter.
But as it has done all season, Bishop Montgomery (25-0) found a way to win. UCLA-bound David Singleton took over the game, finishing with 38 points in a 67-63 victory. The Knights will enter next week’s Southern Section Open Division playoffs with a 40-game win streak.
