Brooklyn Nets attempt to woo Deron Williams with a sign
The Brooklyn Nets made sure that Deron Williams would have no trouble finding a sign to remain with the team.
For his 28th birthday on Tuesday, the Nets put a huge billboard outside of his home that read: “”HAPPY BIRTHDAY DERON! from your Brooklyn family.”
Williams, a three-time All-Star who averaged 21 points and 8.7 assists last season for the Nets, becomes a free agent July 1.
The Nets would like to sign Williams to a max contract extension, but he’s expected to opt out and become an unrestricted free agent.
Williams is reportedly considering remaining with the Nets or joining the Dallas Mavericks.
