USC quarterback Cody Kessler completed 17 of 21 passes for 247 yards and a touchdown, with one interception, in USC’s 31-14 victory over Oregon State on Friday night.

Kessler was perhaps most impressive after having an interception returned for a tying touchdown in the second quarter.

The third-year sophomore from Bakersfield did not panic.

Instead, he completed 10 of his next 12 passes and helped lead the Trojans to their first victory at Reser Stadium since 2004.

Kessler’s 71-yard touchdown pass to Marqise Lee was USC’s second-longest play this season, trailing only the 80-yard touchdown pass play that Kessler and Lee combined for against Boston College.

Kessler passed for more than 200 yards for the fifth consecutive game.

For the season he has passed for 10 touchdowns, with six interceptions.
