After splitting four games through the third week of the 2013-14 NBA season, the Lakers held their 12th place position in the Western Conference.

In the Eastern Conference, a 5-7 record would put the Lakers in seventh place. In the West, the Lakers are two full games behind the eighth-place Dallas Mavericks (6-4).

The San Antonio Spurs (9-1) have the best overall record in the West, tied with the Indiana Pacers.

The Lakers are the first team to play 12 games, seven at home and five on the road.

Although the Clippers are in third place (7-3), they’re only three games ahead of the Lakers.

While the Lakers can’t exactly boast about their record, it’s not terrible considering the team has played all 12 without Kobe Bryant (Achilles) and half without Steve Nash (back).

The Lakers play the Golden State Warriors (7-3) and Sacramento Kings (2-7) in a light Week 4.
