The Lakers continued to fall in the standings after back-to-back losses to the Orlando Magic and New Orleans Hornets. Now at 8-10, the Lakers are currently in 12th place in the Western Conference.

The team is only one game behind the seventh place Denver Nuggets, so all is not lost.

The Lakers are in third place in the Pacific Division, 3 1/2 games behind the Clippers and 2 1/2 behind the Golden State Warriors.

League-wide, the Lakers are in 21st place. They’re closer to the 2-13 Washington Wizards (4 1/2 back behind the Lakers) than they are to the 13-3 Memphis Grizzlies (six games back).

On the bright side, the Lakers are only two games behind the 10th-place Philadelphia 76ers.

The Lakers visit the New Orleans Hornets on Wednesday night with hopes of breaking the trend.
