Rayan Raveloson scores on bicycle kick as Galaxy beat Timbers 4-1
Rayan Raveloson opened the scoring with a bicycle kick in the 27th minute, and the Galaxy beat the Portland Timbers 4-1 on Friday night at Dignity Health Sports Park.
Jeremy Ebobisse tied it for the Timbers (6-8-1) two minutes later, but the Galaxy (9-6-1) retook the lead for good in the 34th minute on Victor Vazquez’s header from behind the six-yard box.
Steve Clark conceded a penalty to Kevin Cabral, and Sacha Kljestan converted from the spot in the 53rd minute to make it 3-1.
Samuel Grandsir capped the scoring for the Galaxy in the 56th minute.
Pepi notches hat trick as FC Dallas rolls to 4-0 win over Galaxy
FRISCO, Texas — Led by Ricardo Pepi’s three-goal performance, Dallas secured a 4-0 victory over the LA Galaxy on Saturday.
Pepi notched the first goal for Dallas (3-7-5) in the 27th minute, assisted by Andres Ricaurte. Pepi put Dallas ahead 2-0 in the 44th minute.
Pepi gave Dallas a 3-0 advantage in the 50th minute, assisted by Szabolcs Schon. Jader Obrian sealed the victory for Dallas in the 88th minute, assisted by Justin Che.
The Galaxy (8-6-1) outshot Dallas 12-7, with four shots on goal to five for Dallas.
Jimmy Maurer saved all four shots he faced for Dallas. Jonathan Bond saved one of the five shots he faced for the Galaxy.
The Galaxy host the Portland Timbers on Friday.
Rayan Raveloson helps Galaxy rally, tie Real Salt Lake 2-2
SANDY, Utah — Rayan Raveloson scored for the third consecutive game to help the L.A. Galaxy to a 2-2 tie with Real Salt Lake on Wednesday night.
Julian Araujo played a high ball to the center of the area and Raveloson, at the top of the 6-yard box, scored on a header to make it 2-2 in the 77th minute. The 24-year-old Raveloson, who signed with the Galaxy (8-5-1) on May 20, has three goals in four career MLS games.
Ddefender Aaron Herrera played a low cross to the center of the box and Albert Rusnak put away a first-timer to give Real Salt Lake (4-4-5) the lead in the ninth minute. Maikel Chang scored his first goal of the season — the second of his career — to make it 2-0 in the 25th.
Victor Vazquez blasted a rising right-footer into the net to cut it to 2-1 in the 33rd minute.
RSL has conceded 16 goals — 12 in the second half — this season.
Anderson Julio’s header for Salt Lake late in stoppage time bounced off the crossbar.
Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez, who is tied with Seattle’s Raul Ruidiaz for most goals in MLS this season with 10, and Sebastian Lletget did not play for the Galaxy.

Deiber Caicedo, Cristian Dajome score as Whitecaps beat Galaxy 2-1
SANDY, Utah — Deiber Caicedo and Cristian Dajome scored second-half goals and the Vancouver Whitecaps ended an eight-game winless streak with a 2-1 victory over the Galaxy on Saturday night.
Dajome capped the scoring for the Whitecaps (4-7-3) in the 77th minute on a give-and-go with Brian White.
Caicedo tied it in the 48th with a low-hard volley to finish the rebound of a goalkeeper deflection.
Rayan Raveloson opened the scoring in the fifth minute for the Galaxy (8-6-0) with a header of Victor Vazquez’s cross.

Injuries to Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernández and Sega Coulibaly prove costly in loss
For Galaxy coach Greg Vanney, the combination of a crowded schedule and the loss of several players to international duty promised to make July a test of the team’s depth.
That test got quite a bit harder Sunday night when the team scratched captain Javier “Chicharito” Hernández, the league’s leading scorer, minutes before kickoff at Dignity Health Sports Park, then lost center back Sega Coulibaly to a right abductor injury just before halftime.
However, the biggest loss came on the scoreboard, with Johnny Russell scoring on the rebound of his own shot to spark Sporting Kansas City to a 2-0 victory in a game the Galaxy dominated.
