The NFL announced Monday that Tom Brady would be suspended four games stemming from the "deflategate" scandal, and Twitter came alive with reaction, including takes from professional athletes and celebrities.

Some said they thought the four-game suspension was too harsh. Others said the punishment was just. And then there were those who cracked jokes.

Brady’s teammates were not pleased.

Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount, who is also suspended for the first game of the season on a separate violation, also shared his outrage over the Brady decision.

Patriots safety Patrick Chung also tweeted, but his message contained an expletive.

As it stands now, Brady will be eligible to return in Week 6 -- includes Week 4 bye -- when he will travel to Indianapolis to face the Colts -- the team that "deflategate" occurred against during the AFC championship. The irony was not lost on Colts players.

Others felt Brady got what was coming to him.

Some had fun with the situation.

And of course this guy had to chime in to the conversation.

Finally there were those who pointed to other suspensions and scandals in comparison to Brady's situation.
